Valentine Day is that time set aside every February 14th to express your love for that special someone in your life. The day is celebrated from grade school through adulthood. It begins with the exchanging of Valentine Day Cards and leads to the exchanging of diamond rings. It is a good holiday. Valentine Day is a time to go above and beyond in your pursuit to display your unrelenting affection. However, if you are truly in love than everyday can be Valentine Day. To many times in our society we wait for a special holiday to adhere to our feelings. Take Christmas for example, when everyone seems to be just a little more friendly, a time when the good in all of us seems to rise to the surface. In addition there is Easter, when our faith seems to be lifted for the occasion.

Why is it that we tend to rely on a special holiday to display our true feelings? I am sure you have heard the song “Why can’t everyday be like Christmas”. Your first inclination might be that it would not be unique if those feelings were expressed each and everyday. However, I beg to differ. If we could express our love everyday, all around the world, would this not be a better world? This is a major misconception of those that accept life for what it is. Optimism is not a sin, but simply the human trait of hope. We hold that amazing ability as human beings to cling to the faith that our lives can be better. Therefore, do not rely on Valentine Day to show your soul mate that you love them. Show them each and every day of your life. Surprise them with a rose. Give their heart a lift with a romantic card containing your most sincere feelings of love and passion. Every day can be Valentine Day, when you are in love.

As human beings we are empowered with the ability to creative in the expression of our love. Many people throughout the world, such as me, express those feelings in the form of poetry. Our emotions are transformed from beats in our heart to words on a page for you. You have the opportunity to share these poems that we have written for all to enjoy.
