A principal must lead with inspiration
Supervise a staff and school
Responsible for a student’s education
Often thought of as un cool

Students often respect their teachers
And thank them for a job well done
While principals seem like creatures
Who took away their fun

Some students fail to see
What a principal can do
Lessons learned through history
Principals are teachers too

He roamed the school for thirty years
Trying to keep things straight
Beneficiary to laughter and tears
Such great memories to relate

A principal’s job is full of stress
For if they really care
So many concerns to address
Futures to prepare

Our children are our tomorrow
A principal knows this well
A role model from which to borrow
In time his work will tell

A principal hates to say goodbye
Memories of students come and gone
To look back and not question why
To prepare so many to move on

Principals roam the halls it’s true,
Making sure the school is safe from harm.
The fact that they do is nothing new,
You should not be alarmed.

They discipline you when you’re bad,
But when your school days are through.
You’ll remember all the fun you had,
And that Principals are human too.

As you receive your diploma
This moment frozen in time
Memories at once confront you
And prey upon your mind

Your journey was not easy
But blazed with dedication
From your first day in class
You filled us with elation

As your teachers we know
This bond we formed in trust
We shared our minds with you
And now you define us

We thank you for your dedication
For the education that you share
For the focus and attention
That gets our children there

We appreciate all that you do
Your job can be aggravating
But if parents do their job too
Its success through collaborating

We support you in your mission
To exercise a child’s mind
To alter the human condition
By enhancing what you find

Pre-school Teachers are so great
They work with our kids all day
They have so much upon their plate
I don’t know what to say

It takes someone special to teach the young
It takes kindness and understanding
These little lives have just begun
Making the process so demanding

And yet these teachers do it everyday
Share their souls and their hearts
Not for the thank you we might say
For them teaching is where love starts

You have been more than a Teacher to me
You have been a builder of dreams

You set educational passion in me free
You instilled in me what learning means

You taught beyond the golden rule
You inspired a young mind to yearn

You ignited a hunger in my soul
You challenged me to learn

You set no limits to what I could be
You deserve more than a Thank You

You are more than a Teacher to me
You molded me as a person too
