I have often heard those around me debating which is more valuable, a Daddy or a Father. It seems that many believe they are two different people. Some believe that anyone can be a Father but that it takes someone special to be a Daddy. Some make it known that the paternal holiday is called “Fathers Day’ and not “Daddy’s Day”. I find myself in amazement that the discussion even exists. Is there really a difference between a Father and a Daddy and if so what could it possibly be?

As another Mothers Day approaches I find myself reflecting on years past. As a small child I must have formed the normal bonds that are created between Mother and Daughter. However, as a teenager I seemed bent on breaking those bonds forever. Through it all my Mother displayed irrefutable patience and compassion. How she managed to do so will always be a mystery to me.
